The nickname "Innovari" (meaning innovation or renewal in Latin) has been with me since I came across Syd Mead's prototype car design of the same name in his wonderful book "Sentinel." This work, with its air of "a new era of design"—along with the works of many SF and fantasy illustrators (such as Chris Foss, Peter Elson, Angus McKie, Chris Moore, Jim Burns, and Fred Gambino)—drove me over the years to do my own artwork.
"Fantastic fiction" always had a remarkable weight in my whole personal and professional life. I have been a professional SF author, I edited a fantasy and horror movie magazine, and for ten years have been chief modelmaker in my own special effects company.
In the last decade my creativity has leaned towards computer graphics and 3D illustrations in particular—with which I wanted to create professional artworks for books and magazines. I'm happy to say that in recent years this objective has been fulfilled, with many works sold worldwide to private and corporate clients.
Currently I'm building my worlds in Bologna, Italy, where I share a home with my wife Raffaella and our cats Leeloo and Merlin.

Yess, this looks like a "small" hollow world, much more than the first version I commented, excellente work :)

mmm. It looks different, that's for sure. As for hollow... hard to tell. It's obviously subject to personal interpretation, but to me it should be a darker world, and, maybe with some transparency in it. Just my two cents. Have a cool sunday. Rodrigo

yes, i can see that you are getting an effect in the sky that look like a hollow world. nicely done. i tried a couple times to get a ring world effect (world wraps in a ribbon up into the sky) very tough to do. though someone else did it much better than myself.

Better. But you're right, it's hard to do. If it's a giant hollow sphere, maybe I would try to do it that way: put the landscape on the inside of a really big sphere (first a positive, then a slightly smaller negative and group them), and then do the same for a "cloud layer"... and use a really low (to the person) POV so it looks up into the "sky". But then there's the question of the light source (a big ball of fire in the sky? - don't know the story. Hmmm. Not so easy.

Very cool work!

A very tricky subject, well handled Luca ! For reference check out that old B&W (re-coloured now!) Jules Verne movie "Journey to the center of the Earth", the concept artists had the same problem to solve. Kool stuff & ~Cheers~

Duo, Knowing that you are a Syd Mead fan like I. He has some excellent examples of the concept you are trying to create. I don't know if you have his book Oblagon there are several Ring World illustration that somewhat achieves what you are trying to do. "For the world is hollow and I can touch the sky."

I like both images... This is a Dyson sphere... The Ringworld that we keep talking about is a modified Dyson Sphere...
