Description

Lights up my room Lights up outside The sun melts my disguise As it slowly rises before my eyes As a child I'd run rapid Past wind chimes Through grape vines With tanned feet And dusty clothes In the summer heat And the wind blows To the edge of the sea With pale palms Packing wet sand Where the winds calm The shore land And I build things That mean more Than politics Or the Civil War And the sea rides over it And takes it into its grasp Which makes me smile And makes me laugh Cuz I can always build Another one There's plenty of sand And plenty of sun But over the land I'd take off and run Through grape vines Past wind chimes With sandy feet And wet clothes Drying in the heat And the wind blows On through my window Where I'm... Day dreaming with sun in my eyes As it slowly hides in the skies The sun that lit up my room And lit up outside

I love the images that these words bring to my mind, simpler days, easy times.

Mellow, like words I've always loved, far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
