Nice drawing, Kathleen. My grandson will like this one. This brings back memories. I liked both DC and MARVEL ( known as ATLAS back in the 1950s ), but found them difficult to source in my home town, and quite expensive. They were not sold at Scottish 'pocket money' prices . The one shop that had them had copies several months out of date, after they had been transported by sea. The adverts were often intriguing, for toys we could only dream of. We did have informal comic swaps at primary school, when the teachers weren't looking ;o) With older 'classic' British comics like the EAGLE, HOTSPUR, HORNET, the one copy in the school would be read by everyone ( yes, including some of the girls, although they had girl comics then, too ). Some of the stories in the girls' comics were read by boys. I once came across comic strips from the late 40s and early 50s, featuring British stars of stage and screen and the early TV, in an old house which had been half demolished. These too were recycled. Many modern comics are more obviously adult only, although the art is usually of a high quality. One of my sons collects comics now. Regards, John.
