hoheitsvoll Riesenseeadler Haliaeetus pelagicus (Pallas) Steller´s Sea-eagle wuchtiger gelber Schnabel; Gefider braunschwarz; Flügeldecken, Schwanz und Laufbefiederung weiß. Flügelspannweite bis 2,30 m. Jungvögel einfarbig braun. Bewohnt die Küsten Kamtschatkas, Sachalins und Nordkoreas. Horst auf Bäumen oder Felsen. Legt 1-3 Eier. Brutdauer 38-45 Tage. Narung vorwiegend Fische (Lachse), auch Aas. Selten in Tiergärten. Stark gefährdete Art. majestic Steller's Sea Eagle Haliaeetus pelagicus (Pallas) massive yellow beak; Feathers brown black; Wing-cases, tail and race-fletched white. Fledglings monochromely brown. Live in the coasts Kamtschatkas, Sachalins and Nordkoreas. Horst on trees or rock. Put 1-3 eggs. Brooding duration 38-45 days. Food predominating fish (salmon), also carrion. Rare in zoos.
