Description

Photoshop CS3 and Illustrator. I wanted a watercolor feel to most of the image and really tried to play around with the original stock photo of the man. I was trying to show the conflict of doing what is expected and what a person knows is the correct thing to do. I tried to play the blues and orange in the picture off of one another to show this. I was going to throw an image of a woman into the background of the sky, like a soul leaving this world to the next but afterwards I liked the feel off the open sky looking down on the man accenting his isolation. Any comments pro or con are welcome.

I agree...this is a real powerful piece of work. One of the best I have seen in a while. The texture and details are top notch and I love how the background is a bit blurry in perspective.

This is absolutely wonderful. I love the philosophy behind it. The title of the image caught my attention as much as the image itself. And before I read your commend I was already contemplating some of the same feelings and thoughts that you mentioned. It is an extremely sad reality of human beings, to do the things that others expect us to do, and not to do the right thing. It is so painfully and unfairly imbedded in the human conscience, that even people who perhaps wish to do good fail to do so because of their social needs of acceptance, their irrational desires to be loved and wanted, and to fit in. It is sad. But it affects each and everyone of us, one way or another. Very well done!! Jesimiel www.E-Medicine.org
