Excellent capture of the King of Kingfishers. Mum and Dad have two that come in for a feed everyday. Awesome when you can see them wild, free and up close. Wicked post...

What a stout little character! I love the brilliance of his plummage! Now I have that song in my head. 'Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the bushes, he, laugh..Kookaburra, laugh...Kookaburra, gay your life must be.. Used to sing that when I was a little girl. Never saw a Kookaburra til this day.
