I beg to differ, it is artistic, it just depends on your train of thought. An artist paints a picture using paint, a texture. A photographer sees a subject and paints a picture with his/her lens capturing light and shadow and texture. Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so is art. This looks like it might be a stop tap for water or gas, got a bit rusty so I will go with water. Excellent clarity and detail full of wonderful texture, and good enough to be framed and hung just as much as the Mona Lisa, IMHO. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

i agree with jeff this is art and comes in many forms and guises .its a fantastic shot elizabeth and there is nothing to be critical about .its a superb capture and a fave for me mick

I think this a very strong composition! I don't really know what folk mean by 'artistic'! I just think that for a piece of visual art to be special it should compel one to cross the room to look at it more closely. Or, in RR, to be unable to go past it in the galleries. I can never go past your work!

I think alot of people are attracted to rust. I love looking at rusty old cars, and the such. Maybe it's the thoughts that are raised afterwards. That doesn't make much sense, but it's a very well taken picture. I love the lines in the background. You have a great eye. I'm really enjoying your newest gallery adventure. Keep it up!!
