Description

The family that swims together, stays together. Captured 4/14/07 in the heart of beautiful Echo Park in downtown Los Angeles, California. Enlarged this photo from a lower resolution, so not as sharp as I'd like, but you get the idea. Thanks for the visit on this bright and sunny day.

Sorry, Harry, it wasn't intentional!! This family reminds me of ducks that used to live on Balboa Island, near Newport Beach. My grandparents had a house there and some of my happiest memories are of those times . Anyway, there were the mama and the papa, Elmer and Esmeralda and their little ducklings, all in a row, just like these!!

I say they go for a picknic. Cute family of 5. Like a wide crop.

Gosling is easier to associate with goose than cygnet with swan. Duckling leads to canard to match the complexity.

Nicely captured! It's easy to anthropomorphize these lovely critters! The one in the lead seems to be saying, "follow me, I know exactly where we're going," and the one in the rear appears to be on the lookout for danger. The babies, of course, are clueless. Wonderful capture, my friend!

I love watching them swim like this - if only humans would learn from this type of bonding! A great capture despite the low resolution. Hugs Chrissy xx
