My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Reminds me of a petticoat I had as a young girl. Papery, starched and oh, so proper. Great shot, wonderful macro.

Peony up, pard! Terrific clarity, colors, lighting and textural effects in this magnificent macro, my friend! A winner in my humble opinion! But, in contrast to soft petals, they resemble hard and sharp thin potato chips seen on end.

I like very much this closeup picture for the "lightness" of the petals and the work you have done on colors. This rose reminds me some bunches that I saw when I was a child. It is very pleasant for me!

flowers can evoke such sensuality sometimes... your postwork lends a sultry, period feel to this shot - very cool!

I love this! One of my favorite types of flowers. My grandma has several bushes in her yard and I look forward to them blooming every year. I take as many photos as I can of them. Beautiful work auntie.

I'm new here (I come from other arts) and am trying to catch up on the galleries I've discovered so far...I was pulled in by your gallery for all kinds of reasons I can't say, and one of them is your constant dialogue with flowers. You understand them. I think I mentioned Georgia O'Keeffe someplace, she blasted the traditional view of flowers right through the roof and showed the cosmos in them. You seem called to that bigness. You've got power here, real mystery and an almost paper-thin delicacy at the same time. Petals are pretty opulent, yet you've created a brittle thing, almost carved out of light or very delicate glass; and it's to die for. This thing billows out like it were coming out of a primal place, and, like another flower you did, it could be woven out of silk. And you have that little dab of light top left to add a touch of transcendence. Articulate & eloquent.
