Description


All four sides of one Milestone situated on the moorland above a small "drive through" village of Walsden on the border of the Counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire. To make it clearer they read to TODMORDEN 2Miles to ROCHDALE 5Miles to HALIFAX 10Miles to BURNLEY 9Miles Todmorden & Halifax - West Yorkshire Burnley & Rochdale - Lancashire Thanks for all comments I value them greatly, and have a Terrific Weekend !

I see a couple of recent chips on the old stones Alan, nothing is safe is it. Great capture of this piece of heritage, they had to use chisels then to carve, I just love how they split the names up to fit them on, especially Todmorden. I always shout at the tv when they pronounce it like it is here. You know the BBC English "Tod - more - den. Why can't they say Tod like we do.lol. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Markers like that wouldn't last long around here. Vandals would either get them one night or some drunken misfit would mow it down like weeds on the shoulder of the road. Great shot and a wonderful look into history.

very intresting and original idea jsut need one that says keighley on now i know all the others only 10 mile to halifax from where i am excellent work and thanks for the comment on my flowers oh strange you mentioned the snow drops as i took some of them too on the same day but decided to put the crocus one on as it was cheerful. have a lolvey wk end xx cj
