I'll wait for you," she said as her love sailed away to fight for the king. High above the port she stood, alone weathering the storms and loneliness that battered her. Her eyes straining to see the white sails far away, her hair tattered and torn.
Years passed, but still she waited....her heart awiting her love.

Wanted to do a picture that carried images of loneliness and endurance. This was actually based on a short story that Elizabeth Gaskel once wrote.
This was fun to make as I used several layers and blending modes. The lights are a combination of 3 distant lights and a spotlight, and playing around with levels in cs2. Brushwork is done using ron's smoke brushes. I used one of my favourite characters by vali and some samilandich props. Skydome from daz and rocks ect from Runtime.
