3D RULES!!!
BIOI live in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and have been working with various programs, mainly Hash Animation Master and 3D studio Max. More and more of us are trying to capture photo realism, but is this where we should be going, with the freedom to build and design anything, why copy what you can photograph.

I am prefering or better said HOPING that the surface of the egg was THE image from the article! If not I am totally geliouse of the success you have accomplished with it; but still a marvelouse work even if so...

The mag image was sort of generic, I've been playing around with the concept for a day or two and made this.

Nice image and materials :-) Just a few crits tho from a boring technical point of view ;-) The texture on the pink stuff is an image of cells right? I can tell because the nuclei are visible. This is unrealistic given the scale of the sperm and the fact that they are themselves single cells. Maybe if you changed their materials to a bumpy procedural like the the brown thing. Also the transition between the materials in the bottom left is too sharp and looks unconvincing. Sorry for the long winded comments :-) This really is a cool image :-)

This is the most comments I've received, maybe my next image should be "Sperm on vacation" or "Sperm goes to a rave".

Very insightful comments, Puppeteer. This is a really cool image. I'd love to see the finished product. Keep up the great work. PS: IT WOULD BE COOL IF YOU USED DOF(Depth of Field) to make the back sperm blury and the front ones sharper. Just a thought
