i like the surface detail on this, it definitely looks tough. Only few Crits i can think of is ya might try to use the Edge tools 9.3 offers to smooth out the harsh edges. Its a pain though. Vertibevel does something similar but ..i just dont like that plugin much. There are a few smoothing issues, but as you said its still a work in progress. Good work :)
