I love this place! So much to see, wonderful people, great outlet for artistic creativity! International in scope so we get to see places and things we wouldn't see otherwise, and communicate with people and experience their point of view and artistic pursuits!  How cool is that?!?!!   =)Ok, some details about me.   Artist since age 11, grew up in SW Oklahoma. Extensive experience in oil painting, drawing, AS degree in Art Education, started photography at age 10 when I bought a brownie camera for 50 cents at a yard sale. It used 620 film (anyone remember those large negatives?), my dad was satisfied that I could handle a camera so at age 11 he taught me (and trusted me) to use his Asahi-Pentax 35mm SLR with handheld light meter (both bought in mid 1950's and used for all family photos). He gave me the camera several years ago and all his equipment, a legacy. I use a Canon PowerShot and hope to get a better digital camera somewhen. Meanwhile it captures and occasionally produces a gem. 2017 Update - Mostly just use my phone for photos now. I see a lot as I traverse Middle Tennessee for work each week. I will start posting again soon.

Ooooh, my favorite flower! grin Nice shot, and you just have to post the photo of them when they do bloom! Amazing to me that you're getting that kind of weather where you are, too! That just normally doesn't happen! I'm from Georgia myself, though living in Colorado at present, so I now know all about snow...lol...hang in there, it can only last so long! ;D

They look like they are still on the way up, so thats a good thing, I hope they don't get frostbite. Fantastic sunshine here again today but still cold. Excellent capture of these hardy little shoots, it's what we need new growth. Bravo!!!!!

The thing about Tennessee is we get any kind of weather any time...80 F in Dec., 55 F (high) in Aug, or a week of no higher than 0 F in Jan, and a week of no cooler than 100 F in July,... Ice and snow and rain and sun all in the same day in winter months is fairly common. Great thing though is the weather changes to something good just as quickly. Tomorrow is gonna be 55 F and sunny! lol

Intrepid little flowers are these daffodils, they just pop up no matter what with their sweet little yellow blooms!!

Well seen and captured. We are still mid winter in the northeast. We had another 10 inches of snow today followed by freezing rain to coat it all. 13 hours of plowing for me today...I sure would like to see those here. Thanks for posting

Is it that time already!

They look pretty stubborn in that snow! Up here in Michigan it's been a high of 20, and the low last night was 0! By Monday we get alot warmer, but also freezing rain. I think I like those daffodils more than this freezing rain stuff!

They look sturdy enough. :) I am very happy to see the progress. Sorry about the weather, but it can only last so long.
