Description

Trying to get away from the full on psychedelic look, I've been reworking a recent planet to look a little more realistic, mostly with materials from the MJL.

Lovely large displacements on the spires neil & the softer smaller values help depict some variation. Adding a small noise value will help to get some roughness in the rocks materials but you have to consider the size of that roughness versus camera distance for the final render. The specularity on thematerial really makes it look wet or of a smooth plastic-y finish. If this wasnt the intention then that small value will help to compensate for that also. FSV is a must to be able to see all of the work in this shot. is this final or are you pplanning to continue working the file? The moons "flit"...doh! old MJ issue :) have you condered adding a Volumetric Atmos it may help better with depth as I tend to find some std mojo atmos' flat. Unless your looking for a light & airy feel. Your also quite lucky on the DOV in this that all the displacements showed up :) Nice work :)
