-------------- Tales of the Silver Gryphon - The Castellan, pt 2
Stepping through the other side of the glowing gateway, she nearly threw up. It was the first time she’d ever traveled by such method, having never passed through a Dimensional Folding spell or a Teleport in her life. The sensation was intriguing, but at the same time, gut wrenching.
A woman entered through a side door, with a glow about her that lit up the otherwise dark chamber. Her eyes were pools of amethyst and her hair, golden blonde. Malloryn recognized her in an instant and bowed deeply.
“Your Highness. It is an honor to meet you.”
“Malloryn Callestia. It is a pleasure to meet you as well. Please, come this way.”
Malloryn noted immediately the carefully phrased response. It was a “pleasure” to meet her, not an “honor”. Princess Elysia obviously knew her place in the world and it was not beneath the likes of a Sister of the Sea Court.
They stopped at an auspicious looking doorway and pushed one of the double doors to one side. The carved wood, either enameled or plated in gold, said volumes about the position she’d been appointed to. Elysia nodded to someone inside and then stepped back, nodding to Malloryn.
“Please,” she motioned for Malloryn to enter, “I have other things to attend to. Enjoy your chat with my husband.”
The Princess spun and left without allowing for a word in response. Malloryn was shocked at being escorted by such a personage as the Princess Elysia Archangel Wellington, but she would be even more shocked by what was to come. A voice from inside the room called out to her.
“Come on in, Sister. We have a lot to discuss.”
She moved around the half of the door that was still closed and stepped into the office of Prince Drammis Wellington, the master of Syvasgaard. The room was immense for a mere office, but she'd seen bigger. The desk was piled high in papers and reports, the coffee pot was on the boil on a magical plate on a table nearby. A pipe sat smoldering in an ash tray and the heavy golden drapes were pulled back on the balcony windows, revealing a scene of snow and ice beyond. The panes of glass in the Franco styled doors were covered in a thick sweat. A fire guttered in the fireplace just past the doorway to one side. The floor was polished marble, with strategically placed rugs, especially near the balconies where the floor was no doubt freezing cold. Numerous pictures and maps of places she couldn't recognize hung on the walls.
The man remained standing, initially leaning on the side of the desk, then strolling back and forth, occasionally stopping to look out the windows. It all made her very uncomfortable.
"So, the Sisters of the Pearl have sent me a spy?"

I like the mix of pirm-and-proper but still a little sultry that you got through with this on, well done.

A tour de force in warm/cool lighting and warm/cool colors, with a shy/sultry lady. I can almost feel the warmth of the hearth on the blue velvet gown.

The little minx is going to get her education the hard way. LOL Wonderful picture. I am not sure she looked that well put together in the gargoyle cave though.
