Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

You sing a song of a work of choice, and therein is the joy. Wonderful poetry.

I can relate to this, I think. I don't have to get out of bed unless I want to. I don't have to do any work any more, unless of course you count taking the wife to the grocery store. Wonderful prose Marilyn, I like how you've done the selective on the ladder, makes it 'pop'. Bravo!!!!!

It's great doing things which are really fun and enjoyable...and getting paid for doing them.

This is fantastic, Marilyn...and I feel exactly the same way that you do. I hate the kind of work that chains you down. Oh, I get all sorts of hell for it, but hey...I prefer freedom, and what you've written captures that so perfectly. There's freedom and there's safety...and it's amazing how few people actually DO choose freedom. Great post: it's one that's made me think quite a lot about what I'm doing, wanting to do, and hoping to do...and "work" isn't high on that list, since work is a four letter word.

My Dad couldn't wait to retire so he could do the jobs he loved. He worked until the day he died, but at things he loved. He used to say it kept him young.

More insightful prose as to your daily existence, Marilyn. The description of all your chores can be boiled down into one word: multitasking.

I love my job too! I get to mix with all walks of life and make new friends along the way.
