Maybe tweak the lighting so that the eye glass reflects some light...just a thought. Nice modeling and texing.

Thanks for all the nice replies so far, I really appreciate them! I know I should probably work a bit more on the lighting and will do so someday. The textures are mostly procedural with alpha channels activated (the shader "clouds" is used extensively to get the worn look). I also used some ordinary texture maps, either made by me or downloaded from various public areas. I don't have Bodypaint.
