Description

I downloaded the demo version of Photomatix - the HDR thingie that does tonemapping, using 3 diff apertures and merging them into one. I cheated here ... :-/ I used the Photomatix in this ONE shot; adjusted the levels, giving me 3 different-looking exposures and carried on from there. I think it turned out okay, do you? I tried doing this technique with a number of photo's, and I'm seeing it doesn't work well in all situations. So, I took a walk down the river, with the tripod in hand, I was going to try doing this the right way. Well, let's just say this is the best I've done so far (this Duck shot); and leave it at that. My first try -- #1. lol I'll keep trying though; as I love HDR effects. Thanks for stopping and also for your wonderful comments on my recent shots; some really put a smile on my face :) Have a wonderful Day ... Shari

Really interesting effect and a glorious clear action shot. Filters look good! Makes sense HDR and action shots would be a plenty difficult mixture - A barn, now that's the ticket!

Magnificent shot, and effects, Shari. Not a wall full of ceramic ducks in sight. This one looks as if it wants to get somewhere .. quick. Regards, John.

I think this is the best of the Mallard series. I never tried Photomatix on scenes like this but you've done well. Looks very pleasing to me.
