Description

This is one of my concept vehicles for traveling between stars. It's basically a huge fusion-powered motor that accelerates ions to high velocity thus creating thrust. The chamber inside the hull can carry as many planetary crafts or "landers" as it can fit. Because this craft can travel at relativistic (near light) speeds , most of the dangerous hi-energy particles are pushed away by a powerful electromagnetic deflector in the nose "antenna", while the rest are deflected or absorbed by the tough hull. Awesome picture and great desctription. I guess the engine could be called an Ion Drive? How big would you say the ship is?

This particular ship is only 500 meters long, but larger versions could be built if necessary.

Nice, imaginative image. Love the starry background. My one concern is that the centerline axis of the ship seems to be at odds with the axis of the circular part of the antenna...other than that, good job!
