It looks to be an angry creature, so it's carrots on a stick for the opposition. I suppose those are horse shoes flying around? Just so they don't act like boomerangs. You'd have to keep very still or be prepared to dodge and nurse bumps. The chequered pattern at the foot has a feeling of Sienna and its ancient ceremonies.
