Description

We set out to go walking yesterday, the weather here in Rochdale was very cold but the sun was very bright. We took the bus to Hebden Bridge, takes an hour. There the sun had disappeared, cold and misty but not to be detered we set off on the trail 6 miles back to Todmorden. reaching the top of one side of the valley the sun appeared once more and I was pretty pleased with the view that we encountered. I did not enhance this shot, it is straight from the camera, shooting into the sun was difficult, I selected the Sun function full zoom hand held and clicked (not the best quality I know) any advice welcome. I uploaded a very green version called Spring3 some time ago taken only a few yards from here, you will see a significant difference. thanks for all comments, much appreciated.

it is the conditions which many of us hope to see( when not driving) and you have captured the feeling really well. I shoot into sun a lot more than pre digital days and the effects can be striking , like this. I could not improve on the composition, a key feature being the way the tree on the right just extends into the far hill giving an anchor to the skyline.

i see the weather is no different further south ,we have been engulfed in frezzing fog day and night last 2 days ..alan i agree with jeff ,my opinion is that what ever feel is creative is the correct exposure and the quality doesnt matter as long it portrays the story you want to tell ,which this does .its what you saw and want other people to see .i think ive expained that right :o)..my heads in bits as younger brother was taken into hospital today thats why i`m late commenting .this is excellent and conveys a great story of how it was mick
