Description

The small islands you can see here in the background from Balgal Beach, 65 kilometres off my shoreline, shrouded with rain clouds are the Palm Island group. A beautiful tropical haven in paradise with a very bad history which still has it's controversies to this date. Listed in the 1999 Guinness Book of Records as 'the most violent place on earth outside a war zone', from the death rate, violence, life expectency and history. Not sure if it is still listed as such now, but it is one of the most beautiful island groups along the Great Barrier Reef. Such a shame the Palm Group has fallen into such a black hole..I used to camp on all the Islands around the Palms..the Tribe used to come in their home made canoes to pick us kids up and take us out hunting or back to Palm Island for the day or night..was fantastic..used to love their Palm Island Shows..A time I will hold dear to my heart..a precious thing lost...Lol..Kym..
