The Eagle Owl is a large and powerful bird, slightly smaller than the Golden Eagle.

Another excellent capture David, but I don't think its a barn owl. As far as I remember barn owls have a flat looking face, sort of heart shaped, this looks like a relative of the eagle owl. Whats in a name when its so good looking anyhow, that is both the owl and the photograph, again the eyes are spot on, thats the first thing I look for in critter shots, be the tiny or large. Excellent capture
