Description

Hi 'Rosity Friends. I am still stuck on this planet until my cheque comes. Took some pictures of the lunar eclipse with my rinky dinky little telescope. Three pictures here timed at 21:33pm (partial growing eclipse), 22:33pm (total eclipse) and 23:33pm (partial shrinking eclipse). Positioned the images on this montage so you can see the full size of the earth's shadow compared to the size of the moon (imagine the black circle covering the red moon and cutting the other two images in half). Was a fun night. Wife and I drank beer outside with the Chimenea going and watched the moon change in the most beautiful way. Telescope not too happy though. It froze to the ground and its little moving parts all seized. Oh well, the price you pay for being a total nerd. Enjoy

As usual, inforamtive and humorous commentary. I'm glad you stepped up to the plate and provided us a very lovely capture of the moon in these stages. VERY clever of you to show the Earth's shadow like that, it would never have occurred to me. I hope your 'scope is feeling better.

That's a great montage. I got myself side-tracked and totally missed it, so it's especially nice to see a good photo of the event.
