Description

Hello! Here's yet another shot of the Grand Canyon - this one is looking almost straight down. Those trees are actually very tall though they don't look it . . . In 1540 a squadron of men from Coronado's expedition came upon the rim of a great canyon. They estimated that the "stream" flowing at the bottom was 6 feet across, even though their native American guides told them it was closer to a mile wide. Three of the lightest and most agile men attempted to descend to the river, but after most of the day they only got about a third of the way down and gave up. Rock spires that from the rim had appeared to be no taller than a man turned out to be higher than the Great Tower of Seville. Alright, enough history for now; more of that in later posts. Good news! My new PC is all together and up and running!! I'll be able to come and go as I please so expect to see me around here a lot more often. Hope you all have a great weekend and as always Thanks for Looking! Ken

I think it's cool you saw it in the snow. What a shot dear. Well done. I can see you with the camera strap wrapped around your arm, holding it out for the shot.
