Travelogue Entry: The planet Chrome, has an interesting place in the annals of Imperial History, but I get ahead of myself. The planet Chrome, imagine an entire planet made up entirely of metal, all types of metal and water, that's it. Just metals and water an industrialist's dream come true and no one owned it. Luckily for all involved it was an Imperial Research Vessel that stumbled upon the planet a thousand years ago. They were having engine problems which caused them to drop out of hyper space. The first team down were amazed by their discoveries, breathable air, slightly sweet smell of lilacs, yet no vegetation found. The water was crystal clear, allowing the team to note that there was nothing to be found of interest, basically there was nothing there, just clear water. According to the report one of the old timers decided to try the water, report states that he reported, that the water was sweet like Kharnuan Wine. No one else tried the water according to the report. They were then recalled to the ship before a full spectrum of samples could be taken. Of course upon their return to Draconia all information was turned over to the Imperial College of Science for indepth analysis. It was soon after this, a rumor of a planet of untold wealth had been found, that who ever could find it would never have a thing to worry about for the rest of their lives. You can easily understand what was to follow. Not only were the civilians going nuts but also the Imperial Senate, all striking claims for this marvelous planet. During the furor the scientist did their initial tests on the samples from planet Chrome and the first thing General Luge of the Science College did was call for a full security lock down on the college until he could speak to the Emperor. Everything of course is fully classified of what General Luge told the Emperor but the next thing done was isolating the old timer who had drank the water. The next day the Emperor addressed the Senate. Many were salivating over who would gain control of this marvelous planet, a vote was called for as in accordance with Senate rules, and seconded by all, so the vote was taken and it won by the industrialist bloc to become the protectors of this planet. Which brought a silence to the furor and disappointment to many. That is when the bomb was dropped, the Emperor stood and for the first time in a thousand years and the Emperor said "no". If you thought it was quiet in the chamber before, now it was deathly still. "From this day forth the planet known as Chrome is the property of no one, no one will have a claim on Chrome including the Imperial family." the Emperor stated in a tone that assured those who knew him that any objection would be met with force or personal duel. The Emperor then placed the 2nd Imperial Fleet to protect the planet at all cost and for all eternity. So it is today, still there, unmolested, except for the few samples taken and the water drank. Oh by the way, according to the report the old timer lived to be 135 and with no ill side effects, of course this is good for a Dracioan who normally lives for 120 to 180 years old.
