( If he will came to read it.)
Perhaps can help you this old vintage illustration to know Clovelly while you came or not came to visit it.
The village is tiny indeed just a narrow street of white houses that slope down (or up) the cliff above a beach of gray little pebbles.
Every thing have a old aroma of marine sail and old Victorian times.
To me the best was the harbour with the old furnace where the lime was produced to consume for farmers and builders. that was the main industry of this village before the tourist arrived.
This picture was taken last Thursday with a real bad conditions of light and without the beautiful colors of the little gardens that this village has everywhere waiting the coming of Spring yet.
The tide was gone at that moment giving at the picture a special mood. I'm a lucky guy, some times.
May be the best time to visit, same every place, will be May, or June.
Well... that is all.
Have a nice day.

What a wonderful job you have done of this... And Clovelly is one of the hidden treasures of Devon.. Do they still have the donkey rides to get down to it..

he,he...thank you very much for comment. well here have a angle of 210 degrees with 6 shot in total jointed to created this apparently single view. About the donkeys..... well when you arrived to the parking the first filling is a strong smell of...country?, a well concentrated country smell. we though ...may be cows. However the stables are close to the entrance plenty of donkeys that at the moment was peaceful resting waiting for the star of the season. Sure you can ride a pleasant donkey at summer as is usual.
