Description

This image was done for ImagineFX to celebrate Frazetta’s 80th birtday. I decided to paint a classical fantasy art piece like the ones we are used to see from Mr. Frazetta, I just did it in my style as I just didn’t dare to copy the masters style. A strong hero with some massive axes in his hands, in the background I used some elements Frazetta already used in his art like the birds. I painted a Portrait of Mr. Frazetta in the background to honor him and to show that he is the one who made this picture possible cause without him I probably wouldn’t paint anything today. I just hope I got a little likeness with the Portrait of Frazetta in the background as I just had a very small picture (taken in the 80’s right after his “come back”) from his website as reference. Hope you like the picture was a pleasure to paint it. Happy birthday Frank!

Excellent!!!!!! Frank frazetta is one of my all time favorite artists. I have tons of his artwork I've found on line and have his collectible card collection from the '90's.

First off, I like the piece, and if I were in the book business, I'd look for a book to put it on.... [i]But...[/i] I can see one way to make it better..... Instead of a pair of axes, a brush and a palette, and Frank's head on the main figure, with one of his classic works on a canvas on the background..... Hey, I couldn't do it, so it's only an idea, not a criticism, or even critique. Just fits my image of the man's approach to painting..... pgf (Although, I was told once that 'Frank' comes, ultimately, from the nam of a throwing ax....)

Mindblowing,I cant say enough about what I enjoy with your type of art,fantasy at its best . Personally monster's and female fantasy art is best absorbed by myeslf but I do really like the work in this.Im really looking forward to seeing your zbrush transition .Thanks also,bye cal :)

I'm speechless with wonder! This is exquisite art. Your drawing of Frazetta is superb, it is beyond that! Your work translates that quality, something about the eyes. You captured a sense of charisma about him. I like your style of art too. You know that you wouldn't need to copy his, or anyone's style of art.
