My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I always admire those with the woodworking skills to create such beauty from nature. Lovely image and rich color, indeed!

It is a shame about the damage, but it still is a wonderful piece of wood, so rich in warmth, colour, texture. I wonder how many hands have held it and caressed it. This bowl shouts out at you to hold and caress it. As much as I want to hold it I would also be afraid to lift it, it looks so fragile, but I would want it on show as well. Out in the open where I could stroke it as I passed by. It is an awesome piece Tara, and you have done a great job in capturing it. Priceless beauty! Wonderful. Bravo!!!!!

I recently saw a documentary about how hard it is to find this kind of burl people have to hunt in the deep woods for days !!! gorgeous bowl and capture of it!!

Love the reddish ambiance and textures in this capture, my friend. Even though it is a bowl, it looks so much like the tree bark photos that various members post on RR. Incidentally, when I first saw the title I thought the pic was a shot of the local bowling alley.
