Description

This is my First Carrara Upload. This is a Preset scene inside of Carrara 5 Pro The free version from 3D World Magazine Issue 100 To get familier with the UI and other facets of Carrara I used the scene and manipulated, tweaked, retextured, added bump, recolored or just added the object to the scene and tried to crash Carrara Yes Tried to crash it, because it is important to find the limits of a software and then push them, but not go over them. In any case I am pleased with this first shot and hope it supplies for a long lasting realtionship, Ha!!!! Rendered at 2304x1728 res 300 DPI in 6hr.1min.56sec. GI lighting and it is a real nice lighting system Thanks for the Looksee and any C-n-C. I don´t know Carrara but i think this is a good first work. A lot of fine details and great lighting.

Yes! Great render! I've been using Carrara too. It has many good aspects and some not so good. I'll probably post some of my efforts here soon. Interesting what you said about trying to crash it... that's what I always do and I must say this for Carrara - I found it very stable... Vue not so good!

Nicely done image for a first time with new software! Interesting that you mention "pushing software to it's limits". Seems I don't have to do too much to get Vue to crash! :-( Perhaps Carrara is a more stable choice in case I decide to switch.

Carrara Pro has much to offer. I plan on using it in my next extended project. Getting used to the UI is only the half of it... Getting used to a different workflow is also a challenge.
