When I was 14 years old (half a century ago)I took my first solo train journey from Bournemouth to Dartmouth. The train was very full and there was standing room only in the corridor, which ran the length of each carriage down the platform side. I fell asleep standing up, and when the train stopped at Dawlish Warren I felt out onto the sand and woke up. I was extremely embarrassed!!.
