This is a stark and moving image. It's an excellent reminder that all humans are ultimately the same. We live. We fight. We love. We die. There is so much in this image and it's beautifully composed. It is powerful and also incredibly moving. Superb work!

Lots of 'unknowns' there. Cemetaries often have strange juxtapositions.

Thank You all for comments. Katyń is in Russia near western border. This cementary was build in 1944-45, when Russians were fighting with Germany on Polish land. Yes, it was more complicated then only fighting with Nazi soldiers. Russian soldiers could be our true brothers, but russian officers commended few years earlier (when Russia invaided Poland) to capture all Polish officers. Almost 20 000 of them were hold in camps in Russia - Kozielsk, Ostaszków and Starobielsk. 5th march 1940, all the officers were taken to many locations near Katyń's forest and shooted by Russians... Also Stalin intension wasn't only winning war with Germans, but also take much as possible land, that will be after WW2 in Russian power. Everyone remember cold war, berlin wall and division of Europe... Yes, it was more complicated then "freeing Poland". It's quite interesting that on this Polish - Russian cementary is a monument for officers in Katyń, that i will show You on picture. Thank You
