Description

Sometimes, despite our best intentions, and our greatest of efforts, disaster cannot be averted. I dusted off V3 for this image as I thought her more angular face would work better for what I had in mind. I'm also still practicing with eyes, based on theSea's teachings, and I'm liking the results. This is also another item off my "hair to do list". I used the Magnolia Hair, available here, by SWAM & Zachrael2002. The hair texture is courtesy of Propschick's Grandiflora for Magnolia, also available here.

Great expression & nice work with the eyes (glad that's working out for you!). I love the composition (nice touch with her emerging from the BG) and color choices. I do get the impression that the character lighting and BG lighting are a bit mismatched.

My "rationale" for that, theSea, is that she's got flames coming at her from the front too. I probably should have added some sort of element, like smoke, to help with that impression. My initial title idea was "Aw, crap!" but I decided on something a little less goofy sounding. You have a very good point though, and I need to try to take more care in working out my lighting vs. background in the future. Oh, and yeah, I am really liking the eye info! Thank you everyone for the comments. I try to learn something with each image I work on. I don't always succeed, but the intent is there. ^_^
