Description
The 262 was the aircraft that has had more effect upon the aviation industry than any other in history. Used intelligently, it was devastating. Trouble was, it was a bit too fast when setting up a firing solution. Hence it had to slow down, then it could be bounced before it could speed up again.
A beautiful design,let down by short-lived engines and political errors of judgement.

Very nice...maybe some smoke trailling from the no3 "Libbie" ? ----------------- "And during disengagement, the pilot had to coaxe the throttle by millimetters, due to their temperamental Juno engines that tended to blow up...so one usually simply gained altitude frantically...to exchange it with some speed, evading and checking for the next target at the same time... Yes a very fine aircraft that proved the worth of jet engines. Think your render is very well done. Agree with above that that third Lib needs some smoke trailing from it.

The Army in WW-I did not want people who knew about engines because they would make secondary judgements based on the condition of their engine. (from Rickenbacker's book as quoted online.) Maybe that is why they wanted the Chase glider in 1946. (It would be powered as the C-122 then the C-123 with jets as well as props) I have analyzed a lot of combat situations involving high closure rate as well as simple tracking solutions at the rear quadrant.
