Description
I was pleased from the american Tarot-Collectors Forum to illustrate a new card for "THE TOWER", because one member of those which had the job to create a card (every card another member) is no longer member of the forum.
Of course that was a great pleasure for me.
Creation Info:
It's my complete new vision for "THE TOWER". I used for the building a monstrous human form with a hi-tec scifi texture. As you all can see i think i must not make great words about the breakout meaning. I think the image speaks for itself and everybody should be free in finding his mind.
The progress: I started and used an own morph of a Poser figure with full clothing and posed it like i planned for the further progress (the name of the morph is HOGMAN, but that's not important). Then i exported this figure a single obj.file and opened it in another UV-software, where i cutted out some polygones of the body, and saved it as a new obj.file. So the figure got some holes in his body. This new figure was imported at BRYCE, where i made the rest of the composing.
At first i created the new texture to form the human figure like a futuristic hitec tower. This took some hours of experimenting. Then the landscape and the buildings were created and again i experimented several hours to create the textures which i want. Before creating the buildings i placed a spotlight inside the body of the tower. That was my planning that real light shall come out of the body. Very important to place the spot in the early beginning of a composition, because every test needs long time to render and if the scene is to full it's too difficult to come in progress. After that the spot can be disabled to create the rest of the composition.
At next the sky settings and the global light were created. This is even a timewasting job, because there are so much possibilities and a little changing can change the whole expression. Tests with global light and airwaves take usually the most time, it's an endless job, because there are more than 1 wonder which you may get
The tress in the foreground are a idea which came by the terrain texture, that wasn't planned before. I would like to include several little crosses / tombstones, but the size wouldn't fit to the skyscrapers.
At last before rendering i posed the both skeletons (female and male) in Poser with the original figure, so that they got the pose which i wanted and the legs are hidden. Even these skeletons were imported in BRYCE as obj.files, were posed with the tower and a new texture like fog and airwaves was created for them.
Then the final render with 300 dpi was started.
Oouuuhhhh it took nearly 48 hours and i'm glad that my PC didn't crashed in between.
At last the skeletons and the lights which are coming out of the body got a finish painting in COREL PAINTER . (Those of you who know my TRAUMZEIT-TAROT may believe me, - I hate grafic tablets! That's not the same like real airbrush.)
The lights became a little bit stronger and a center, also i included some new only by digital painting (it shouldn't look too technical created), and the forms / bodys of the skeletons became some more weakness, so that they are more included in the sky.
I forgot the volcanoes, at last they became some life
For the moment that's the finish, but i will rest some days and look if further ideas will fluid in.
