I always wanted to go to Italy but never pursued the idea because of my dislike for Italian food, at least what they serve in the US.I have been told by Italians that they food does not resemble what is sold here and I tend to believe them.

I loved the real Italian cuisine! I learned how to bake porkchops instead of breading them and pan-frying (Southern way...tasty but they can be tough...) and they would be falling apart tender and seasoned with some herbs and salt and pepper. Also the sandwiches were sooooo good! And the Italian ice... mmmm good~ Mike, your meal does look good too, especially the bread, I LOVE cheese bread~

I could give you a few from my favorite pizza parlor in the 70's. "Beer in the rear, here" (to his wife Jan who was sculpting a clay bust of him as he worked) "Wish in one hand and shit in the other. See what gets you the most." to no one in particular, Oh! to me on a religious basis.

Looks good Mike... I love cheese bread. We have a fabulous Italian restaurant here in town where I love to dine. I make my own spaghetti, so we don't get that when we go out.
