Description
Fingers whistfully trace rectangular edges,
as tears drop onto upturned earth
Red ribbons wrap nestled promises,
gently placed next to the hands of time
Trinkets tucked in velvet pockets,
rememberences of true love's birth
Monochrome captured moments,
life and love entwined
Flowers pressed within worn pages,
of journeyed hopes and dreams
Lying uncovered through the years,
Will lay in wait for my return
Firsts marked in miles of stones,
this long life lived short it seems
Fingers whistfully trace rectangular edges,
comparing notes of lessons learned

Beautiful images painted in words Michelle. Sounds like the thoughts of someone visiting a cemetery... Wistful, lonely and sad.
