Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. I only managed to get one usable shot of this critter last October. He/she was constantly moving and I had a hard time getting a shot that was not blurry. This was as good as I managed out of several attempts. I don't know why it is not called a Red Net-winged beetle, lol. For those interested, the house project is still going well, but slowly. I am still moving ok but slowly as well, lol. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

Could the golden have something to do with it's crown? More orange than gold though. A little bit longer in the body I think, than the cardinal and lily beetles but other than that quite similar. Still an excellent if somewhat soft focus image, certainly one I would be proud of, I don't know how you do it with one hand most of the time. Glad to hear the house is progressing and that you aren't going full tilt at it. Bravo!!!!!

The texture and detail in the antenna is really what strikes me here. Nice view from the top. I have been wondering about your house project and it makes sense you would you be slowing a bit this time of year. Its usually the wet and windy time before spring starts to warm things up. :-) Can't wait to see it when its done but I'm glad you are going slow and taking care of yourself.
