Description

This was probably the most exciting experience while visiting Yellowstone last summer. This wolf which was most likely a yearling came to the scene from a ridge chasing a full grown elk, then turned his attention to the pronghorns that I showed a few days ago. In this photo he was exhausted and frustrated after long and unsuccessful chases. Soon after the photo he walked away in front of a herd of bison (first photo of the series). i can't blame you for feeling so excited when you spotted this wonderful creature...great capture! and to think mr. bush, et al in his administration are taking the wolf off the endangered list, allowing open season hunting on this not only magnificent, but also environmentally beneficial friend...
