This salt evaporation enterprise is now defunct, to be replaced with urban sprawl. Nice urban sprawl, mind you. Part of the deal is to forever have Baer Island next door as a Nature Preserve. I love going there for the walks and the stupendous uninterrupted views. My natural instinct is to prowl around old industrial sites, so I bit the lure.
