This is very colorful, interesting and beautiful Evie. This turned out great. I really love the colors. I'm so sorry you have to go through all this, though you said she was up there in age. I agree with the others, if it will save her life, what else is there. My heart goes out to all of you. Huggs... Silkylady...

Beautiful painting Evie ..love the soft pallet.Very soothing to look at. My Gram lost her leg at 85 due to a staff infection. She was just too old to bounce back after that and she suffered terribly up until the end. I say no ..make her as comfortable as possible and spare her the trauma of surgery.I hope that does not sound cold but I think she deserves to live out her last days as free of pain as possible. I will keep you and your Mom in law and hubby in my prayers.

First, beautiful image Evie. I could see this in a museum. Bravo & a Fave. As for your Mother-in-Law... Not much info to base advice on. How does she feel about it? Her wishes supercede everyones!!! Will this buy her much more time? Will it be quality time? I firmly believe that when life no longer holds any pleasure, or is filled with pain, we should be allowed to check-out. My father was miserable and could have stayed on for many more years, hooked to a machine. He wanted to call it quits. Papers were signed to dis-allow special measures to be taken to save him. He passed away a few days after that. It's what He wanted and He was very lucid about it. So.. what does your Mother-in-Law want? If she wants to hang around longer, help her do this. If she doesn't, don't force her for your own sakes. Is she lucid enough to choose for herself? If not, what would you want, if you were in her place? Hope this helps.. hugs and best wishes from Dave :^)

Beautidul image Evie....................If she is lucid it is her decision ! I've been through these situations many a time now with people I cared for and still am. It's about them, the sick ones not us the well. At times death is a welcomed choice. Also as Dave points out we know little of the facts !

very hard to make decisions for those we love. I would have to take in account if their life was going to be better and if they were able to make a decision their self your art is outstanding and I love the textures and relief

the art is outstanding... it hard to make these chocies. guess you have to see what the one that leg is going to get cut off and see what she say and talk it over real good to find the answers. sorry not much help.

I did a painting many many years ago like this Evie. Used 'gesso' and acrylic. Came out much like this minus the bird. You've done an amazing job on it. Very spiritual for me this one.
