Hmmmmmmmmmmm! I feel compelled to respond to your artwork by stating the following: I hereby agree that those dreadfull black spots had a very negative effect on me! Thanks for bringing the subject up!

Ah well, here goes ... I can see that this 'spotted' image of yours, Kathleen, would not require the 'Contains Nudity' warning, as per the Renderosity site rules, at least by the letter of the law, as it were. I can understand, that as an artist you feel unnecessarily restricted by the rules. Others work within the rules, or work their way around the letter of the rules, quite successfully. That is your decision to make, as to what and how you chose to post your images, but it is up to the 'moderators' aka the 'censors' to enforce - and be responsible for their decisions and ready to defend them, in the open. Their job should be carried out, conscientiously, to the best of their ability, and certainly 'in moderation', not, as it has in the past, and I am sure that they would not want me to elaborate, 'immoderately'. An awful lot of this 'immoderation' is a result of the moral quagmire that the political correctness and culture of fear nurtured by politicians, of all parties, of post 9/11 resulted in. Yes it was a traumatic event, and woke American up. Yes, many Americans still do not understand why their government is actively disliked by many people all over the world. Few Americans, with whom I have conversed can get their head round it, and those are the ones that have left their land, even if only for a holiday, and are willing to stand apart from what the rest of the world perceive, as their very narrow, insular mindset. Unfortunately, in almost an orchestrated fashion, this 'culture of fear' was gleefully seized upon by politicians al over the world, as a way of distracting their voters from the problems caused by a free market, among other things, It is not just confined to the US of A, but can also be seen in her neighbours, and political and economic partners overseas ( but not necessarily, it would seem, within the other two nations in the NAFTA ), as well as in her enemies e.g. Putin's / Medvedev's New Russia, and would be business partners such as 'Don't-Mention-Democracy-or-Rights-Because-of-the Olympics' China. Leaving aside the political quagmire that underlies this restrictive mindset, and getting back to the problem at hand, I well understand, having worked in crime intelligence circles, why sites have these rules. On the one hand they do not want to be held liable to litigation ( one might say after all that laywers have always been the enemy of Democracy, and make Free Speech pay a lot .. to them ), and on the other hand they do not want to unnecessarily restrict access to the images, and of course the wares for sale, that are part and parcel of Renderosity. The guidelines already allow, at least in adverts for various POSER items, quite explicit 'soft core' images. These, of course are not art, but adverts. They naturally use soft sex to sell. That is business, at least in the States. Using the body as Art doesn't sell, and might scandalise some viewers. That is why the warning lables are there, after all, allegedly. Trying to restrict who views an open internet site is rather difficult after all. Having to enter a password, or series of passwords every page, would seriously restrict enjoyment, and trade. Using cookies to at least handle frequent viewers is no doubt possible, but would cost money and time. I feel that I must also point out, to posters, vendors and moderators, that, just because an image on Renderosity has a CN warning, does not in fact mean that it does contain nudity, as several posters on the site ( images and vendors ) have made clear, sometimes, but not always tongue in cheek. Similarly some folks' ideas of violence would not pass the common man's gauge at all. That is why we now have some nonsensical criminal legislation, at least in Scotland, but I would suspect that the USA has its fair share, being more prone to that 'creeping fascism, known as 'Political Correctness', that is so worded that even if the so-called victim does not consider him/herself to be a victim, others might think that they were a victim, so they are then considered to be victims, and at least in Scotland, have proved to be, for the prosecution, not just unwilling but downright hostile witnesses. This brings respect for the law even lower, and will lead to either downright anarchy, or as we have at the moment, the creeping police surveillance state. Some would say that that is the intention. I would hope that they are wrong. After all this is like police officers arriving at what someone has called in as a serious road accident, and having to put in a report for a minor traffic bump where both parties shook hands and drove / rode off, just because some busybody, who was last in the line when God was handing out 'common sense', 'phoned it in, in the first place. as their 'civic duty'. In addition officers may, depending on force procedures, then have to report both drivers for failing to report the accident to the police ( despite the fact that it is not a reportable accident under older legislation ). When I was in the service, officers first duty was to use their power of discretion. No pwoer of discretion and everyone is an offender, and at the mercy of an increasingly merciless state machine, no matter what country one is living in. It is right that you have made your point, quite starkly, with your amended sketches, my friend, even if it is in frustration at what seem to you, and many others as unnecessary regulation, but do not expect it to get any better. Those in power, in the White House, in business cartels, in school boards, all assure us that they know what is best for us, usually because they have no idea what is best for anyone, and are prepared, often ruthlessly to impose their warped will and mind set on everyone else, because, of course, everyone but them is wrong. It is high time the real majority of ordinary citizens, in whatever country they reside, simply stopped being quiet, complacent and therefore, sadly, compliant, stopped being the doormat non-Bushite, 'Real Silent Majority' TM. All it takes for evil to succeed, and it is evil, even if well-intentioned by some, to succeed is for men to be silent and do nothing, to paraphrase Burke's 'Triumph of Evil'. Be prepared, my friend, for the minions of the big batallions to move against you, if you do not seem to have support. I therefore take this opportunity to support your right to complain about what many otehrs, I am sure, also perceive to be a high handed policy. I have made friends through Renderosity, but if Moderators should move on me, I would go, shaking the dust from my feet, as Jesus instructed His apostles in Luke 9:3-5. See even 'non_Bushites', i.e, normal people, read their Bible. The full version of course, not the 'censored' version that tele-evangelists memorize, prosletyze, but do not really understand. If they did it would change their lives, not their bank balances. Take a few deep breaths, Kathleen. Stand up tall, and shoulder to shoulder with your friends. Be patient, and do not strike back in frustration. Establishments love that sort of reaction. It justifies their crackdowns. Cool, measured, robust defence is always their bane. They cannot stand people who tell the truth as they see it, as it is, not as they would have it spoon fed through the media. The more people have their eyes opened, the less power government elites have over the ordinary citizen. If all else fails, we could always migrate to other sites if necessary. It would be a sad indictment on the state of American society, but we should not allow others to do our thinking for us. It is our duty to fight against the steady eroding of our freedoms. We have so many duties. Why can't we keep a few, hard won few rights along the way. Else why call ourselves democracies, and why keep up a pretence of having any say at all in our futures, despite, e.g. the hype surrounding the choosing of the presidential candidates in primaries in the States, at the present time. All our governments seem to do, it seems to me, is manage economies for big business interests. They seem to helplessly, even ineptly at times, juggle their ends of the multinationals cutthroat anarchic world markets. We are not a commodity. We are people. Different does not mean enemy. Respect others, respect us, or lose your own self respect. Very long regards, but no apologies for it, Kathleen, your friend, John.

Kathy i agree with you. But when you take a look at DAZ forums who members are crying because " to much sexy outfit for Vicktoria" you just can shake your head. For some people Nudity is ugly and dirty. Why? I don't know.Makes me sad because A human body is the most beautiful Art we have. Hugs.
