I'm working on refining my characters for my upcoming comic project. Since publishers tend to be a litigious bunch, I'm trying to wean off the "Archie" influences, aside from the triangle-shaped noses. Also, the character "Vanessa" has been renamed "Monica," not that it sounds any less like "Veronica." Also the name of the town/school is changing from "Hillandale" to "Hill Valley." (vague euphemism...) In my first revision, the two American girls looked exactly alike aside from their hair. Their faces are still essentially the same - this is intentional. (Monica is described as "gorgeous" and Betsy as "plain looking" even though they are virtually clones.) I decided to make Monica more bottom-heavy and Betsy more top-heavy. Suki is unchanged except for slightly lighter hair. Yes, these are the cheerleaders in those notorious red-and-black outfits, usually reserved for the "evil" visiting team! Ha ha. Can anybody guess what their school mascot is?? ;-) So, how am I doing with this picture? I know something got screwed up with Suki's hand, but I'm ignoring that for now. And I am willing to entertain any name change suggestions for Betsy. It should be something plain-Jane... (Except not Jane!) Any input is highly appreciated! Thanks.
