The artist is not a person endowed with free will who seeks his own ends, but one who allows art to realize its purposes through him. As a human being he may have moods and a will and personal aims, but as an artist he is 'man' in a higher sense - he is 'collective man,' a vehicle and molder of the unconscious psychic life of mankind. (Carl Jung, Psychology and Literature, 1930)

I prefer the Poser picture, as it is brighter (easier to the eye, that is) than this Bryce one.

I do like the gel-like appearance you have given to the two figures. Very creative.

Wow there is a big difference in the pics. The effects are good though if you could work the lighting up a bit it could be very interesting.

I think you are asking oo much of any program to just pick up the scene at import, hit render and expect similar or better results. If you imported a Poser scene into Cinema 4D (a far superior program and renderer) and just hit the render button without changing any settings or altering the file in any way, you would be forgiven in thinking that Poser is a better renderer. When you build a scene in a program, it sets it up in such a way that works best within that program. This obviously means that other programs will suffer with the same settings. In this Bryce render, for example, several of the materials have changed noticeably, such as the pvc/leather skirts of the two characters either side of the main figure. The lighting is also competely different, as I can see no evidence of light coming from above on these characters, and instead all of the lighting is from the sunlight coming through the window. This really isn't a good image to work on as a comparison between the three programs. Something simpler (a box with a texture map applied, in a neutral setting, with a simple lighting setup), which can be translated much easier between programs, would give you a better idea of which you prefer.
