Description

This shot of Multnomah Falls was not taken from the standard POV, nor is it my usual style. But I just liked this spot and decided to show it as it actually was. And of course you saw what the parking lots looked like in yesterday's upload. There were too many people down at the bottom for me to want to be messing with a tripod and the space it takes up. This is a two-shot panorama; it's hard to get a 542 foot (142 m) waterfall in one frame, even at 24mm LOL. The viewing platform from which I took yesterday's is not visible from here, but it's just to the left of the top of the waterfall as we face it. Thanks for coming along on this hike; I'm glad we all enjoyed it. Bring your binoculars for the next one. BTW, try full sized on this one, even though you'll need to scroll.

Must be a really impressing view when standing there. The people also give a good imagination of the size of the fall.

Such a size Dennis. The people in shot give scale. A superb capture. I love the vertical Pano. Have a great weekend. I wonder where you are taking us next.... Diane.

This is a neat presentation Dennis. I like the way the water gets wipped around near the bottom. And I liked those pictures from your hike and I will look at them again when it is hot here, Sig...

Most times I like the full size view but, I reduced it to 40% and its still AWESOME. You do some great photo adventures. ;-)

Astonishing! I have seen other pictures of this waterfall (including at least one of yours), but this one seems to convey the majesty of the scene better than most. The POV with the viewing place and people gives it some scale and warmth, the bare trees change the lighting and the stark colors of the rock emphasize the beauty of the falling water. Thanks for being our feet and eyes :)
