Description

This is the view this morning from my backdoor. It is still snowing lightly so we may get a bit more. The smaller building is my chicken house and the larger one is my horse shed and tack room. Both empty now the last couple of years. We've also removed the poultry yard fence (and poles) and the pasture fence (metal posts leaning on the barn), but the yard gate posts remain, one with the bluebird house (occupied). Behind the buildings you can see a large tree laying down, it's a black walnut that had fallen on the edge of the barn a while back, last year a friend used his front-end loader to get it down. I generally don't worry about taking out the dead trees in our woods, they make great homes for the many woodpeckers in the area and various other critters. Have a great Saturday! Thanks for viewing and commenting~

This would be paradise to me, to have all those trees just outside your back door, all that wildlife almost in your pocket, great that the bird box is occupied as well, I would have a dozen or more boxes fixed to the trees, with bindings mind no nails. I too look forward to some summer shots, when the trees are covered in their summer coats, not naked like these are.lol. Excellent capture and thanks for the information, I like a narrative as much as the picture, you wouldn't guess would you?lol. Bravo!!!!!

Greetings, Your commentary is very touching and reveals much about you the individual. I like the backyard as I myself hope to have chickens on our small piece of property, for they ground one to the earth and it seems they make our troubles go away for a short while. Thank you for sharing and have a great week. egmont

Could this be the same shed where the cat was lying in another post? Nice shot, anyway!
