Renderosity has opened a whole new world to me, its a fantastic place and have had some brilliant support from many new friends.  I retired from work very early through ill health so I took to photography from the very basics.
Since joining I have grown in confidence with my photography and I now think because of RR that I take it a little more seriously. I started off here using a Fuji Finepix 6500fd, it took some great pictures but I'm hooked now so I have now(April 2008) bought a DSLR SAMSUNG DX10 and having fun learning the settings etc. ( these things take me a while lol)ÂÂ
I am so fortunate to be with a wonderful person in my life, Sylvia. She is not just my partner but of course she's also my best friend. Previously I have been married but seperated a few years ago and have two fantastic children. I NOW have two fantastic grandchildren !!!
My interests are photography, i have had a dabble at Acrylic painting, and I enjoy long walks out in the countryside.      I also have an interest in anything historical.  I want to have a sample of just about everything there is in photography, who knows what the future holds!
Thanks for calling by.    Alan

Well I for one do not want your's to be the next. Great shot though Alan, I had to laugh for two reasons one because it did nibble your finger and two because I was thinking of my brother and his escapade with the little nut grabbers.lol. I must say I did enjoy the day but my legs are still making me think about it. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

Ahhh..the memories...Your entry sparked a lost thought: Some 5-8 yrs ago a squirrel(god only knows where or why he showed up)found his way to my fathers back yard and a big oak tree, he laid on a branch all day, dad took notice and carried some green-uncooked nuts(he loves boiled nuts)and laid'em out, down came the begger, gone were the nuts, next day he's at the base of the tree, same routine-lay some nuts out, again gone were the nuts, next day he was at the back door looking in lower glass, waiting for his snacks, dad carries out the snacks, he DOESN'T run, tossed out the snacks and so on...Next day dad doesn't see'em, goes out, next thing ya know the begger is down at his feet and CLIMBING his pants leg headed for his hand-out, he didnt bite dad, he grabbed the nut, and booked...later the same day I tried a daring tactic, I put some nuts in my top cig-pocket of t-shirt I had on, dammed if he didnt come down, climb my leg, went for hand, I reached for pocket, he got the idea and went headlong into pocket, found his "gold" and split back to tree, day after day I could go over to the old mans place and put 2-3 nuts in pocket and I swear it was the funniest thing to be climbed and ravaged LOL by a ninja squirrel, he continued this for days, he never bit us, he never acted like a pit bull, he acted like a youngon after a gum drop, since then I have always took the time to feed the beggers where I live, raised 1 newbie that was neglicted by mother some 4 yrs ago....Wanted to share a simple moment, sorry to have been long winded...Have a good one...

Wow - talk about suffering for your art! This is an amazing capture! If it had been me, all you would have seen in this picture was a blurry tree and sky as my arm jerked back and my shutter finger convulsed in sympathy!
timtripp
at first i didn't know what the advisory was about... then i read your comment and was informed where you pre-focused... i'm glad you cropped that part out! LOL

Hi Alan wonderful capture so much warmness sweet evening to you warm hug, Linda
jparlay
lol @ timtripp i would have been quite angry with that squirrel
MrsLubner
I love this shot and the pov makes is real! We have a pet squirrel we raised from a hairless pink thing and I don't handle it often. It doesn't bite, thankfully, or at least it doesn't bite with INTENT. But it's claws are like little alligator teeth and pierce skin like a toothpick pierces an olive! only its more like 20 toothpicks all at one time. Don't try to shake them off or brush them away! Oh, no! they can cling to a branch in gale force wind and that goes for spastic human flesh also!
