Description

I have been unwell for about 9 months which has made travelling both difficult & too expensive (I've not been able to work). Not good things for the hobby photographer! One of the positives, however, is that it has forced me to look around myself & try to find beauty where I wouldn't normally see it - closer to home. I hope you like this, shot in Derby looking towards the disused Willington power station. Thanks for looking! ~Steve~ p.s. this is a blend of 2 handheld photos; I can't quite bring myself to buy an ND grad filter even though I love taking photos looking INTO the sun!!!

Great mood, I am always uneasy using line across a pic in this manner, but this proves how it can be used. I love the color and misformed sun.

Well I think it's amazing at just how much beauty surronds us even in the midst of "ugly" man-made objects like this power station - I think they make for an interesting backdrop to a very atmospheric capture. I too love shooting into the sun and love the effects that the rays and flares can create. I really love the way the sun is reflecting on the train track and your composition is super. An excellent capture Steve and best of luck with your health. Hugs Chrissy xx

There's always beauty around us if we know how to look for it. You certainly found beauty here, and your post work is outstanding! The light reflection across the railroad tracks really grabs me! Wonderful mood. Sorry you have been ill, Steve, wishing you all the best.
