Mandarin Duck Cruising Through Our Village
Over the last few months this little, but shy fellow is cruising through Voorhout.
I have spotted him in the ditch behind our house, a canal nearby etc. etc and in the Pool behind the church were I was able to catch him on a photo from behind a tree!!
He is always with 5 “normal” ducks ( 2 females and 3males) and aggressive to other ducks around.
Most likely he is escaped from a zoo or a private garden / pool, and rather afraid of people!!
Over the last few days so many water-birds has been presented, so I think this beauty deserves an upload as well!!!

They are such beautiful birds and you never know Henk this may be a wild one as there is a small free-flying population in Britain stemming from the release captive bred ducks.
